Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Trial Attorney to join our diverse legal team in Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will have 10-20 years of litigation experience with a strong focus on breach of contract, collections, and construction defect cases. This role primarily involves representing major corporate clients in complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on breach of contract disputes. The successful candidate must have first-chair trial experience and a proven track record of litigating cases from inception to resolution. Responsibilities: Serve as first-chair trial attorney in commercial litigation matters, particularly breach of contract disputes, collections, and construction defect claims. Develop and execute litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for corporate clients. Conduct all aspects of trial preparation, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial presentation. Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions, pre-trial motions, and post-trial motions. Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, expert witnesses, and corporate representatives. Provide legal counsel to clients regarding litigation risks, case strategy, and settlement negotiations. Work collaboratively with in-house counsel, outside experts, and litigation support teams. Attend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings, advocating for clients in high-stakes disputes. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar. 10-20 years of litigation experience, with a strong focus on breach of contract, collections, and construction defect cases. Extensive first-chair trial experience, including jury and bench trials. Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Strong ability to develop case strategies and manage all phases of litigation independently. Experience handling depositions, expert witness examinations, and complex motion practice. Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
