Position Overview
A dynamic, innovative, and engaging Theology Teacher is needed for a high school campus serving students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills, a deep understanding of Catholic theology, and the ability to create a learning environment that fosters a love of God while inspiring students to seek a deeper understanding of their faith.
The Ideal Candidate
Is a practicing Catholic who integrates faith into the learning experience, encouraging students to explore and deepen their relationship with God.
Has a strong foundation in Catholic theology and can guide students in critically analyzing Catholic teachings and their personal spiritual journeys.
Has experience teaching high school Theology, fostering students' analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills in faith-based discussions, reading, and writing.
Designs and implements lessons that help students both learn about and learn from the Catholic faith tradition, supporting them in reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Teach five sections of Theology.
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with USCCB and Archdiocesan guidelines.
Provide timely feedback, grade assignments, and maintain accurate student records, including attendance and progress tracking.
Communicate with students, parents, and counselors to provide necessary academic and spiritual support.
Collaborate with department colleagues to assess and refine curriculum, assessments, and instructional strategies.
Integrate technology into instruction, utilizing learning management systems and discipline-based educational tools.
Stay informed about current trends in Theology education and implement best practices.
Ensure that teaching methods respect students' diverse backgrounds while aligning with Catholic values and the school's mission.
Participate in school events, including liturgies, retreats, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications
Passion for teaching Theology at the high school level and the ability to effectively engage adolescent learners.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
Catechetical certification (or equivalent) is preferred.
Prior teaching experience in a Catholic educational setting is strongly preferred, but relevant field experience will also be considered.
Comfort with on-campus, remote, and hybrid teaching models.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
