The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and coordinating communication radio frequency assignments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide safe voice communication service channels between pilots and controllers. The engineer will work closely with regulatory bodies, engineering teams, and project managers to support spectrum-related initiatives across various projects. Primary Responsibilities Radio Frequency Engineering: Familiarity with frequency assignment principles, RF propagation, and interference mitigation. Support coordination of radio frequencies across diverse systems, including both voice and data communications. Telecommunications Systems Knowledge: Understanding of land mobile radio (LMR) systems, analog and digital radio networks, and narrowband operations. Reviewing and validating frequency assignment data and evaluating system compatibility. Analytical and Technical Writing Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams. Interpret technical data and prepare documentation such as coordination summaries, engineering notes, and SOPs. Problem Solving and Decision Making: Identify potential conflicts in frequency usage and propose solutions based on engineering judgment. Interpersonal Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to coordinate spectrum usage and resolve technical issues with stakeholders and agencies. Participate in technical discussions and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. General Technical Competency: Proficient with common office software and able to learn specialized tools for frequency management. Stay updated with communication technologies, industry trends, FCC regulations, and best practices. Ensure adherence to spectrum regulations and coordinate with authorities. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of RF engineering, telecommunications, or spectrum coordination experience. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship or Green Card holder residing in the U.S. for 3+ years). All new hires must pass a drug test prior to starting.
