The person in this position must provide statistical support for the Unit. This work entails the conduct of data collection activities relative to health facilities and health professional’s data, development of health provider data bases and the analysis of health provider data. Must assist in the provision of statistical support for the Certificate of Need Program. Many data files must be maintained to support the data collection activities and range in size from less than 100 to greater than 1 million records annually. Must assist with statistical and data base development tasks related to the statewide cancer registry and birth defects registry, as necessary.

Required Education And Experience Education Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in statistics.
Experience Statistician 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Statistician 10
One year of professional experience in the systematic collection, compilation and interpretation of numerical data equivalent to a Statistician 9.
Statistician P11
Two years of professional experience, in the systematic collection, compilation and interpretation of numerical data equivalent to a Statistician, including one-year equivalent to a Statistician 10.
Additional Requirements And Information Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is 333 S. Grand Avenue in Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Responsibilities Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
- A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
- A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
- Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
