Quality Auditor at Waupaca Foundry, Inc. summary:

The Quality Auditor at Waupaca Foundry ensures the execution of the quality plan in the machine shop by performing quality checks on machined components, managing non-conforming materials, and maintaining a safe work environment. This role requires expertise in operating coordinate measurement machines (CMM), understanding Statistical Process Control (SPC), and participating in root cause analysis for safety and quality issues. Candidates are preferred to have a high school diploma or GED, with additional education and experience in quality assurance being advantageous.

Quality Auditor

ROLE:

This position is responsible for the overall execution of the quality plan in the machine shop. The role will be accountable for quality checks, non-conforming material management, 6S, SPC, and most importantly, exceeding safety expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining a safe and organized workplace.
  • Confirm quality requirements of machined components using micrometers, calipers, gages, & CMM.
  • Ability to understand CMM reports.
  • Ability to operate CMM equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks (TPM).
  • Understand, interpret, and input Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Perform cleaning of machines both internal and external.
  • Ability to troubleshoot & diagnose dimensional issues, assist operations in recovery.
  • Basic understanding of blue print reading and knowledge of the metric system.
  • Material movement utilizing electric pallet jack and forklift as needed.
  • Ability to participate in root cause analysis of safety, quality, and production issues.
  • Other duties as required/specified.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a coordinate measurement machines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to use forklifts, cranes, electrical pallet jacks, etc.
  • High level of attention to details.
  • Knowledge of CNC methodology.
  • CMM experience.
  • Comprehension of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. continually and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to walk and or stand constantly throughout a shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stop, climb, etc.
