Qualifications:Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of function/occupation and developmental disorders.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care. Is a patient advocate. Other duties as assigned. Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care and home health care Pediatric Occupational Therapist the following also apply: Provide direct patient care and/or consultative services for children, teens, and infants in the PICU, PEDs oncology unit and the premature and/or medically complex infants in the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).Just demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of babies and children served.
Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, neurodevelopmental outcomes, supports infant/child mental health and immediate environmental well-being of the infant/child.
Promotes infant/caregiver/parent self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.
Nurture the infant-family dyad.
Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in the infants/child care.
Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
Is an infant, child, and family advocate.
This is an advanced practice area and not appropriate for COTA or New graduate OT.
