The Nurse Manager will ensure that the Supportive Living residences maintain the highest standards of resident services based on State and Federal requirements. In addition, provides management, oversight and support for nursing staff. The Nurse Manager will also serve as the lead liaison with outside providers, home care and hospice providers. Admission and discharge coordination will be necessary as well. This position reports directly to the Executive Director. This position interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, and co-workers, and maintains a positive customer service relationship practicing honesty and integrity in all aspects of job performance. Responsibilities include making daily rounds to resident rooms to assess clinical and environmental conditions and social/emotional well-being of residents; managing resident assessment instruments and service plans; overseeing admissions and discharges; documenting complaints and concerns; participating in monthly QAPI meetings; providing direction and guidance to nursing staff; managing staff scheduling; overseeing the Infection Control program; maintaining HIPAA compliance; establishing contact with new admissions or transfers and their families; participating in and managing annual state surveys and complaint inspections; and responding to voice mail and e-mail messages within 24 hours. Education required includes a Bachelor's Degree and current RN license in good standing in Illinois. Experience required includes at least one year in a supportive living community and one year of management experience, with knowledge in geriatrics and specialized training in infection prevention and control. Proficiency in data entry, word processing, email, and computer programs is also required.
