Description

Summary Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Provider by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides front-office assistance. Provide telephone coverage, greet patients and schedule appointments. Other duties as assigned.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
• Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Performs x-rays (based on certification), electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
• Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Register patients in all required information systems.
• Schedules appointments, receives money for bills, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms.
• Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
• Maintain all required clinic logs.
• Responsible for completing all prior authorizations.
• Utilizes back office equipment such as but not limited to bladder scanner, flow rate machine, urine dip reader, clinitek, ultrasound/biopsy machine, light sources, cytoscopes.
• Sets up Sterile Instruments; ex: Vasectomy Trays
• Insertion and removal of catheters.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual preferred

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to speak fluent Spanish preferred WILSON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL DISTRICT
