Location : Miami International Airport (MIA) / Remote Position Summary Under the direction of the Vice President, Practice Area Leader, the Airline Liaison Officer / Director (ALO) has the primary responsibility for managing relationships between airport and airline representatives regarding matters that affect airline operations at Miami International Airport (MIA). The key areas of responsibility include managing communication regarding aviation project management, terminal design and construction, airline operations, and airport design, planning, and operations activities. In addition, this position monitors the implementation of and adherence to Airline Use and Lease Agreements. Candidates must be self-motivated, require minimal supervision, and have the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will be capable of establishing and maintaining effective communication with airport and airline clients as well as with leadership and staff members in our firm. The ALO must also be bilingual and able to speak Spanish fluently. Requirements Essential Job Functions Relationship Management Manage relationships between airport and airline representatives regarding matters affecting airline operations at the airport. Maintain effective communication with peers, supervisors, and clients. Represent clients in progress meetings, coordinate design activities, and address operational issues and develop solutions. Implement solutions to operational impacts and coordinate resolution with clients, tenants, designers, and construction teams. Communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing. Project Management Review conceptual and detailed designs for capital development projects in areas including terminals, concourses, and the airfield, as well as for specialty systems such as baggage handling, airline and common use terminal equipment, major drain and storm water management, electrical communication distribution systems, utilities, cargo buildings, passenger terminal facilities, NAVAIDS, and other airport and airline facilities. Develop project phasing plans to address operational issues. Review and develop project schedules and evaluate or develop alternative or recovery options. Develop and review project cost estimates and program budgets. Monitor the status of construction and coordinate with representatives of the construction team regarding project status and construction issues. Monitor project costs and schedules and report exceptions and issues. Administration Monitor the implementation of and adherence to Airline Use and Lease Agreements. Prepare status reports, presentations and materials explaining operational impacts or general project information to clients and other stakeholders. Perform specialized tasks as required with minimal supervision and within acceptable timeframes. Perform general recordkeeping, filing, documentation, and graphic preparation duties. Provide support to the day-to-day operations of the Airport Liaison Office and support airline clients. Perform other tasks outside of areas of expertise while being provided with direction. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as assigned. Above average communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent computer skills with a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Suite. Self-motivated. Ability to work within a structured environment with defined expectations. Ability to complete assigned tasks without deviation from established approvals. Ability to balance the interests of multiple stakeholders and communicate with outside parties. Attention to detail regarding quality standards. Ability to interact in group settings using judgment and discretion, and to represent the firm in the desired fashion. Ability to understand construction requirements and airline operations in order to evaluate potential project impacts. Ability to identify potential cost saving opportunities. Ability to read plans and design drawings. Ability to evaluate the scope of projects. Ability to develop alternative design recommendations. Ability to coordinate activities with design and program teams. Ability to prepare detailed written comments. Ability to hire, evaluate, manage, mentor, and develop staff. Ability to generate new business opportunities for the firm. Education & Experience A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, aviation management, real estate, law, or finance. A graduate degree is a plus. At least fifteen (15) years of progressive work experience in managing complex relationships, up to and including airport / airline stakeholders. Additionally, experience with some of the following is necessary : negotiations, aviation project management, terminal design and construction, airline operations, airport design, planning, operations, and financial activities. Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. CAD and graphics software experience preferred. Other Requirements Must be able to speak Spanish fluently, possess a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain airport security badging credentials. First-Year Goals

1. Assume day-to-day responsibilities for the MIA ALO position.
2. Establish a solid and positive working relationship with airline corporate real estate representatives responsible for MIA as well as key airport staff.
3. Develop a solid understanding of the ongoing and future capital development projects planned at the airport and how they may impact airlines, and track and resolve key issues.
4. Ensure that the firm’s ALO contract is successfully managed and maintained.

Long Term Goals

1. Continue to grow the ALO function at MIA with increased involvement in capital development programs and the coordination of day-to-day airline issues.
2. Monitor the local and regional political environments and how they could impact the airlines, airport, and this role.
3. Support and be a resource to the Airline Services Practice for other potential projects.
4. Maintain and develop contacts in the airline industry and market to identify future opportunities for the firm to provide additional services in other locations.
5. Meet annual growth targets.
